Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanveer Khan, OSP, BSP, ndc, afwc, acsc, psc

A decorated officer of Bangladesh Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanveer Khan was born on 08 December 1969 in a reputed Muslim Family in Dhaka. He was commissioned as a General Duties Pilot on 23 January 1990 in Bangladesh Air Force. He has been maintaining a professional military career having the blend of Command, Staff and Instructional experiences at different levels of Bangladesh Armed Forces and Overseas Peacekeeping Missions.

His diversified command credential includes commanding two bases of Bangladesh Air Force, various flying squadron and wing. Other senior positions he held in his career include Air Secretary at Air Headquarters, Director General (Training) at Armed Forces Division, Officer Commanding at Air Defence Operations Center and Commandant of Bangladesh Air Force Academy. He had also rendered valuable instructional services to both Defence Services Command and Staff College and National Defence College as Directing Staff. He is a Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI) and had flown different fighter and trainer aircraft.

Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanveer khan attended several military courses and received extensive professional training in military strategies, operations, command and leadership from both home and abroad. Some of his major professional courses include the ‘Joint Air Warfare Course’ at College of Air Warfare, India, ‘Air Staff Course’ at Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), ‘Air Commamd and Staff Course’ at Air Command and Staff College, USA, ‘Armed Forces War Course’ and ‘National Defence Course’ at National Defence College, Mirpur. He is an alumnus of National Defence College, Mirpur.

Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanveer Khan had his B.Sc in Aeronautics from Rajshahi University. He did Masters in Defence Studies from DSCSC. He also did Masters in Security Studies, and Master of Social Science in Security and Development from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). He did another Masters in Operational Science and Arts from Air University (ACSC), USA.

Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanveer Khan proudly served in UN Peacekeeping Mission twice. In 2002, he served in UN Peacekeeping mission in Georgia, and again in 2009 at DR Congo as Second in Command of Bangladesh Air Force Contingent.

In recognition of his meritorious service, Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanveer Khan was awarded with Extraordinary Service Medal (OSP) and Distinguished Service Medal (BSP). His hobbies include reading and sports. In his personal life, the officer is married to Shahana Parvin, and they are proud parents of a daughter and a son.
